Living with Loss

Grief Support Group

Let’s Talk Life Resource Centre for Training and Development in collaboration with Let’s Talk Psychologists will be facilitating a Grief Support Group, every Tuesday from 7 March 2023 to 25 April 2023.

Everyone has a different outlook and take on grief and, although you might not want to take all suggestions offered, they each help you to fine-tune and better understand your outlook and approach. There is healing in helping and giving.  Support groups provide members with the opportunity to receive advice and support and give it as well.

You will learn a lot about yourself, life and other people in your grief; support groups provide you with an opportunity to use your wisdom to help others. Often people don’t realize how much they have learned or how well they’re truly doing until they find themselves guiding and supporting someone else in their grief struggles. One of the best things about attending a grief support group is the reminder that you are not alone.

Grief can feel very lonely and isolating, especially when no one else around you seems to be grieving.  Although no two people experience grief in the same way, by attending a support group you may find that other people have experiences, feelings, and struggles that are similar to your own.  When you feel alone and misunderstood by the world, the support group community can provide you with a haven of understanding. The grieving process, although unique is universal. The support group is there to help you validate the past, adjust to the present and redefine your future.

You are not alone

Depression and Anxiety Support Group

Let’s Talk Life Resource Centre for Training and Development in collaboration with Let’s Talk Psychologists will be facilitating a Depression and Anxiety Support Group, every Tuesday from 6 June 2023 to 25 July 2023.

In a support group, people living with Depression and Anxiety have contact with others who are at different stages along their healing journey. Group members who are doing well and finding new ways to heal can provide hope to those who are newly diagnosed with depression or anxiety and can show that it’s possible to achieve an acceptable level of functioning.

One of the best things about attending a support group is the reminder that you are not alone. Depression or anxiety can feel very lonely and isolating, especially when no one else around you seem to understand fully.  Although no two people experience depression or anxiety in exactly the same way, by attending a support group you may offer yourself the opportunity to find other people who have experiences, feelings, and struggles that are similar to your own.  When you feel alone and misunderstood by the world, the support group community can provide you with a haven of understanding.

The healing process, although unique is universal. The support group is there to help you validate the past, adjust to the present and redefine your future.
